2020 Western Forum for Migrant and Community Health
Regional conference co-sponsored by the Northwest Regional Primary Care Association
- Date: -
- Introduction: The Western Forum is a regionally celebrated and nationally recognized conference known for innovative content, expert speakers, and a diverse audience from various healthcare disciplines.
This year’s Western Forum theme captures two key components that stand out when thinking about the Migrant Health Center and Community Health Center movement, workforce and patients. Raices (roots) is not only a nod to acknowledging someone’s roots, cultural roots, various identities, family, place, country, community, language, food, or culture they come from. Raices is also an acknowledgment of the environment (as in a living ecosystem) which impacts and is affected by everything around it. Resilience highlights the internal and external strength that all Migrant and Community Health Center members, patients and staff exhibit both personally and professionally.
We are honored to have this years theme “Raices & Resilience: A Healthy Environment, A Healing Community” both acknowledge the remarkable strength and perseverance that are colleagues and communities share day in and day out while acknowledging the work ahead.
