Eagle Watching Trip

Join international students on an eagle watching trip

  • Date: 01/18/2020 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

We will take college vans to Howard Miller Steelhead Park in Rockport on the Skagit River to see Bald Eagles. They come there to feast on the salmon that die in the river after they laid their eggs. Rockport hosts the Skagit Valley Bald Eagle Festival https://concrete-wa.com/skagit-eagle-festival/ every Saturday in January with all kinds of activities. We will visit the Bald Eagle Interpretive Center and maybe (weather permitting) will get a tour with a park ranger or take a walk on a self-guided tour. Several watching stations with telescopes are set up along the river. Finally we will warm up at the ‘clubhouse’ where we provide lunch (make your own sandwich) and hot cider. This is a winter trip so you need to dress warm and wear winter boots. It might be snowy.

Cost: $10.00 We will meet at the flagpole in front of LDC at 8:30am. We should return around 5:00pm.

Pre-registration through the International Programs office required!
