El Norte Film Screening

The Intercultural Services department will be screening the 1983 classic film, El Norte, which centers around the journey of a brother and sister fleeing civil war in their home country of Guatemala, making their way to settle in Los Angeles. The film is as relevant as ever, humanizing the experiences of undocumented immigrants and the tragic story of how everyday innocent youth are negatively impacted by the broader forces of imperialism and capitalism. Please join us to increase our empathy and deepen our understanding of the undocumented immigrant experience.

Admission is $2 or free with an Orca ID card. Popcorn and snacks will be available.
