Emergency funding available to students impacted by COVID-19

Post Date:04/20/2020 1:48 pm

Dear Students,

Whatcom has established an emergency fund that includes federal, local and philanthropic funding support to help current students with unexpected and urgent expenses related to the impacts of COVID-19. This fund will make available critical resources for immediate needs like tuition assistance, course materials, technology, rent, food, childcare, and other expenses. A cross-college team, including AIM, Intercultural Services, Business Office, Financial Aid, Advising, and WCC Foundation, is working to identify students with needs, respond to requests, and direct financial assistance to ensure the greatest impact.

We want every student to know that if you require financial assistance to accomplish your educational goals, please take a moment to submit a request here. Contact foundation@whatcom.edu with application questions.

These are difficult times for us all. Please take care of yourself and others. While we cannot anticipate all of the impacts of this virus, we do know our community is strong and resilient. We will navigate these challenging times together.

All of us at Whatcom are committed to supporting you in your academic journey.

Sincerely,
Kathi Hiyane-Brown, Ed.D.
President
