The visual arts discipline offers courses in a wide range of topics in both art history and studio art. Courses provide a strong, comprehensive visual arts foundation for those intending to transfer into baccalaureate programs, for those preparing to enter the visual communications program at WCC, for students pursuing their AAS degree, or for non-matriculating students. Students interested in studio classes can choose from basic foundation courses in drawing and design, intermediate and advanced drawing and painting, or specialized classes in a range of media including printmaking, ceramics, mixed media, and computer-based art and design. Facilities include a drawing and painting studio with easels, a printmaking lab, a multi-purpose art lab, and a ceramic studio with throwing wheels and electric and gas fired kilns. The printmaking and ceramic labs are available outside of class times to students enrolled in those classes.

Please take a moment to explore the variety of art classes offered at WCC.
