During practicum placements, students will:
- Gain experience as generalist social work through direct and indirect practice.
- Gain experience in micro (individual & family), mezzo (group and interprofessional) and macro (community, organizations and policy) levels of intervention.
- Apply the knowledge and skills they learn in the classroom in real practice settings.
- Make a positive impact on clients, organizations, and the larger community.
Students can complete their practicum in many settings such as:
- Addiction treatment programs
- Domestic violence agencies
- Foster care and adoption agencies
- Hospitals and medical practices
- Human service agencies
- Immigrant and refugee services
- Mental health care agencies
- Nursing homes
- Policy/advocacy groups
- Rural community services
- Schools
- Veterans agencies
- And many more!
