Applying to the BAS in applied business management

Admission to the BAS degree in applied business management program is by selective entry application. The core courses start each fall quarter.

Fall 2020 BAS in applied business management – Applications already received will be reviewed as soon as faculty and staff are allowed back on campus. In the meantime, applications are still being accepted. All applications will be reviewed on a first come, first served basis.

STEP 1 - Apply to Whatcom Community College

Students must be enrolled at WCC and have an active student identification (SID) number in order to apply to the BAS in applied business management program and pay related fees.

Apply to WCC online or request a WCC application by email at or by phone at 360-383-3001. Once you receive your SID number, proceed to STEP 2.

STEP 2 – Meet with the BAS degree advising & outreach specialist

STEP 3 – Gather all supporting materials

Download the BAS in applied business management application packet.

All required supporting documentation must be submitted with your BAS in applied business management application by the deadline in order for your application to be considered complete:

  • Official transcript showing associate degree from a Washington state community or technical college.
  • Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges where you earned credits that may apply to the BAS degree. WCC official transcripts are not required.
  • Two professional and/or academic references; e.g., current or former supervisors or instructors (letters of recommendation are not required).
  • Personal statement addressing questions and criteria found in the application packet. 

STEP 4 – Pay application fee

A non-refundable $50 fee is required in order to apply to the BAS in applied business management program. Your application will not be processed until this fee has been received.

While in-person services are temporarily not available on Whatcom's campus, mail your check made payable to "Whatcom Community College" to:

Include a completed application fee form (page 1 of the application packet) with your check. Note your SID number and "BAS-ABM program" in the memo line of your check.

Note: The fee is non-refundable. If you are not admitted to this program with your initial application, there will be no refund of the fee.

Admission to the BAS in applied business management program (student selection)

Admission to the BAS in applied business management program is through a selective application process. The selection committee will review applicants for acceptance based on the number of available seats.
