Women in STEM
Who?
Middle and high school girls.
Students will be placed in groups with their peers by age.
What?
Enjoy hands-on activities in CIS/cybersecurity, engineering, and software development labs.
Cybersecurity
- You will do a forensic challenge in which you will investigate a USB drive for codes to break into a bank (premise: you've been hired as an ethical hacker to test a company's security).
- You will decipher coded messages.
- You will engage in Code Combat (practice coding via a game).

Engineering
- Explore the exciting and diverse world of engineering through interactive activities led by WCC engineering students and faculty. This hands-on experience will spark curiosity and encourage real-world problem-solving, design, and innovation with real engineering tools, including Computer-Aided Design (CAD), laser cutting, 3D printing, and robots.

Software development
- You will sharpen your creative problem-solving and information-gathering techniques in client-developer role play activities that are sure to spark your imagination!
- Learn about the future of ChatGPT and Quantum programming and how they're used for helpful applications.
