Call to Order

Welcome

Land Acknowledgement and Pronoun Statement:

Whatcom Community College is situated on the land of the Coast Salish People, including the Lummi, Nooksack, Semiahmoo and Samish. The land was stolen through broken treaties. We honor the people who cared and continue to care for the land, water, air and more since time immemorial, and we recognize our responsibility in giving back and beginning to repair and rebuild relationships in our work. This is one small statement, but we hope our impact will be greater.

We share our pronouns to strengthen our human connection, to show respect to aspects of identity, and as an invitation for community. We understand the fluidity of identity and expression; Therefore, we share pronouns in all introductions to create a supportive environment for learning and leading.

Committee purpose

The Services and Activities Fee Budget Committee is established to ensure responsible and transparent management of the Services and Activities (S&A) fee resources. The committee is tasked with evaluating funding requests, ensuring compliance with institutional and legal guidelines, and providing well-considered recommendations to the Board of Trustees.

General Expectations

For everyone to have an equal opportunity to voice their thoughts, this meeting will be run following Robert’s Rules of Order.

Voting members are asked to raise their hand and wait for the Chair to recognize them by name before speaking.

Microphones will be used at this meeting. Please make sure that you are holding the microphone in front of you to ensure everyone can hear what you have to say.

There will be a microphone set up for ASWCC members, and for S&A fee recipients to give reports.

Comments from the gallery will be taken during the open floor segment, which will occur after the agenda approval.
