Associated Students of Whatcom Community College (ASWCC) Clubs are a great way for students to connect with fellow students and build a sense of community. Check out the ASWCC Club & Unions page for information.
The Associated Students of Whatcom Community College (ASWCC) student government represents students in college decision making. You can get involved in ASWCC Government by learning about ASWCC Senate, ASWCC Executive Board, Student Life and Engagement Team, and ASWCC committees (see a list of the committees at the bottom of the webpage).

The Orca Food Pantry is located on the first floor of Syre Student Center!

Established in 2016 by the Associated Students of Whatcom Community College (ASWCC), the Orca Food Pantry provides non-perishable food and hygiene products to combat student food insecurity at Whatcom. The Orca Food Pantry webpage is updated regularly with resources for community food distribution.

What is the ASWCC Executive Board?: The purpose of the Executive Board is to advocate for students and represent WCC students in college decision-making. The Executive Board shall manage, direct, and monitor all the activities, guidelines and procedures of the Associated Students of Whatcom Community College.
About Executive Board Meetings: The main purpose of Executive Board meetings will be to discuss the implementation of the 2025-26 ASWCC Work Plan, which focuses on areas of engagement, collaboration, accessibility, and legacy. These meetings will also include college governance committee reports and civic engagement updates.

What is the ASWCC Senate?: The ASWCC Senate is the main voting body of students on campus.
About Senate Meetings: The ASWCC Senate meeting’s purpose is to oversee the allocation of Senate funds, hear reports from the 2024-25 S&A recipients regarding the use of S&A funds, and to provide an open forum for students to voice their questions and concerns regarding the WCC student experience.

What is the S&A Fee Budget Committee?: The Services and Activities Fee Budget Committee is established to ensure responsible and transparent management of the Services and Activities (S&A) fee resources. The committee is tasked with evaluating funding requests, ensuring compliance with institutional and legal guidelines, and providing well-considered recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
Students can come to ASWCC Association Council meetings to have their questions addressed about ASWCC Clubs and Unions.

What is InterClub Council? All ASWCC Clubs are represented by the ASWCC VP for Clubs & Unions and have a vote at ASWCC Senate meetings. During ASWCC Senate meetings, club representatives allocate funds to clubs and discuss matters that impact clubs. Students can bring questions and concerns before InterClub Council during Open Floor.
About InterClub Council Meetings: The InterClub Council meeting serves as a platform for Chartered Clubs to collaborate, discuss funding requests, share updates, and coordinate various activities to enhance the campus engagement and facilitate the growth of the ASWCC club community.
All WCC students are invited to participate in ASWCC Social Justice Committee meetings! You do not need to attend every meeting to participate.

The ASWCC Health and Wellness Committee is the official standing committee of the ASWCC student government charged with addressing health and wellness related matters important to students. The committee promotes student's overall well-being through advocacy, education, programming, collaboration, and assessment to create a healthy campus environment.

What is the Student Engagement Advisory Committee?: The purpose of the Student Engagement Advisory Committee is to engage with the ASWCC and gather feedback on activity and programing needs across campus and assist in creating a cohesive plan across campus to support student engagement.
