The Student Recreation Center (SRC) is Whatcom Community College’s on-campus gym.

The facility includes a free weight and cardio area, studio spaces that host group fitness classes such as Zumba and yoga, an indoor running track and more! The space is open to all Whatcom Community College students, staff, and faculty. It’s a place where our campus community can come together and do their favorite activities, connect with one another, and create friendships. The SRC is an exciting student-led project, culminating after several years of planning, design and construction.   

Amenities include:

  • Fitness and strength training equipment, including cardio machines (with live TV and video capabilities), free weights, and more
  • Indoor running track
  • Balcony-level fitness and stretching areas
  • Updated gym for basketball and volleyball
  • Two studio spaces equipped with specialized flooring (e.g. wood-sprung floor in second level studio)
  • Towel service and upgraded locker room facilities
  • And more!

SRC Waiver

Students, faculty and staff must complete an online waiver in order to access the facility's amenities. First, sign in to your account using your WCC network credentials here. Under Register, select WCC PAV/SRC Waiver, then click on Add to Cart, then Accept Now & Register. Finally, click on Checkout, then Continue to complete the process. There is no fee to complete the waiver.

Anyone under the age of 18 will need a parent/guardian signature and hard copies of the waiver are available at the SRC front desk.

Group Fitness Classes

All of the classes are free to students, no prior registration required. Classes are drop-in for students. All you need to do is swipe your Orca ID card at the front desk and let the staff know that you are attending the class. Faculty and staff may participate in group fitness classes at a discounted rate.

Fall Schedule (last class takes place the week of 12/8):

Zumba - Tuesdays at 4pm

Pilates with Rhythm - Wednesdays at 12pm

Yoga for Wellness - Thursdays at 12pm

Intramural Tournaments

We are hosting two intramural tournaments this fall! Sign up at the SRC front desk.

6v6 Dodgeball, Friday November 21st from 4-5pm

 3v3 Basketball, Friday December 5th from 3-4pm

Drop in Sports

All drop in sports are free to all students and take place in the Pavilion Gym.
