Welcome to Cedar Hall!

Whatcom Community College strives to create a welcoming environment where residents can thrive while they focus on their studies in a safe inclusive space. Cedar Hall is home to 230 residents and features a variety of community spaces designed for studying, meeting with friends, and socializing. Whether you're hitting the books, joining campus activities, or just relaxing, Cedar Hall is the perfect place to call home.

Student housing provides residents with an opportunity for growth moments beyond the classroom. For our residents, these various experiences become integral to what is to come in the future as they progress in their independence. While there are clear expectations and policies in place, Residence Life takes on a philosophy of learning and growth.

What are the most common learning experiences for residents?

  • Understanding that their signed housing contract is a financial, behavioral, and legal obligation.
  • Understanding that individual decisions have community impacts.
  • The benefit of proactive communication.
  • Dealing and processing moments of conflict with others (mostly roommates).
  • Great things can come when we approach situations with compassion and curiosity.
