In English, we have a three-part process:

  1. Consider which English class is the best fit for you. International students see information on the ESL-Academic Program. Veterans, talk with your Veterans' Services advisor for direct placement.
  2. Present evidence of your abilities, such as your high school transcript or test scores (for example, the SAT or Accuplacer, a diagnostic test available in the Testing Center.)
  3. Meet with an advisor to discuss your options and make a selection.

Math students

In math, we have two steps:

  1. Talk with an advisor to consider which math pathway is best for you, STEM or math literacy.
  2. Provide the college with placement evidence, a test score or transcript, to find your starting point for whatever pathway you choose.
